The first step is to determine what kind of editing you seek (see Rates page). I will do this by asking you a few key questions and by reviewing a few pages of the work you send me an excerpt of 1-3 pages (see Request Page). You pay nothing for me to make this decision. I generally respond to your request within three business days.
If you would like content editing, then I will have to determine whether or not I have the necessary background knowledge or if you will need to provide me with that.
I will give you an estimate by email. The estimate for proofreading and copyediting is based on number of pages as stated on the Rates page. The estimate for content editing is based on how much work will actually go into editing for content, the deadline for completion, and any special requests you may have.
Three payment options:
If we clarify what it is you want and we agree on the estimate; you pay 50%; I complete the work; you pay the remaining 50%.
We agree on what it is you want and on the estimate; I complete a sample of my work on your document; you approve the job and pay 50%; I do the work; you pay the remaining 50%.
If you are not satisfied with the work once competed, and you give me the reason(s), you are not obligated to pay the remaining 50%.
